Following the recent aeroplane accident in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, I would like to share with you how to trace aeroplanes before we decide to take it.
Some information that we can find out is the age, the history (aka. biodata), and the change of ownership of the planes.
All this information we can find out free of charge on the internet. One of the websites that provide such information is www.airfleets.net. In this website, we can find the database of all aeroplanes, mainly Boeing and Airbus, including the company that operates it and the registration code.
Furthermore, the information about those planes which have been lost or cannot be used anymore can be found here.
The plane accident database can be searched based on year, country, and the company which operated it. To find more about the plane, we need to know the registration code and manufacturing serial number which can be traced from the flight code.
Well, by knowing the age of the plane that we are going to take, we can prepare ourselves for the worst case scenario and plan the steps to minimize the risk.
