Miscommunication

ONE day there were these Chinese and British who did not know how to speak each other's languages, went to a restaurant to have dinner together. The meal was served and they started their dinner.

The Chinese wanted to have a sip; he lifted up his glass and said to the British, "Gan bei!" (means Cheers!). At first, the British was stunned but still continued his dinner. However, this always happened whenever the Chinese wanted to drink, "Gan bei!".

The British could only nod his head, kept quiet for a while, and then continued his meal.

Not long after that, the Chinese did the same thing again and shouted, "Gan bei!" while lifting up the glass. This time round, the British put down his utensils while answered back, "It's all right if you CAN'T PAY! I will pay!, so shut up"
